Developing the second wooden satellite. |
Description |
The world's first wooden satellite, LignoSat, was completed and delivered to JAXA in June. We are currently developing the second wooden satellite. The second satellite is made up of two connected 1U satellites (2U). The internal space is larger, and it is expected to carry out more missions. Solar panels are attached to eight surfaces (16 panels). We have started making the second wooden satellite. The second satellite is planned to be 2U, twice the volume of the first satellite. It will be equipped with a UHF dipole antenna and an S-band patch antenna for communication with the ground. It will have an aluminum frame to use the Japanese Experiment Module "Kibo" Small Satellite Orbital Deployer (J-SSOD). |
