Description

The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST) and the University of Sharjah (UoS) are developing the SharjahSat-2, a 6U CubeSat designed for Earth Observation.

The CubeSat's payload is a Hyperspectral Imager capable of capturing high-resolution images with a ground sampling distance (GSD) of less than 5 meters from an altitude of 500 km. The mission's primary objective is to capture the surface of the United Arab Emirates in specific spectral ranges that can be utilized for various remote sensing applications such as urban planning and environmental studies.

In addition, the mission aims to provide continuous and valuable data to governmental entities in the Emirate of Sharjah over its lifetime.
