Perform the first moderate resolution multispectral analysis of coastal ecosystems and ocean color.

Description

The primary objective of this mission is to perform the first moderate resolution multispectral analysis of the following phenomenon: Vegetation Heath, Primary productivity, Ocean productivity, Near-coastal Sediment, Organic Matter, and mapping the production of Shelf waters and Salt marshes. 130 meter ground sample distance (GSD) adjustable multispectral imager and a 500 meter GSD fixed RGB camera Hyperspectral Sensor from 432 nm - 866 nm. The secondary objective is to build a unique Georgia coastal imagery library that aggregates and classifies all gathered data from SPOC.

Failure cause However, around December 9, temperature on the battery board and the CMC began to spike. On December 14, the last telemetry frame was received from SPOC by SatNOGS ground station EU1XX. SPOC’s last known state was Safe Reboot Mode on the Failsafe software image. Our best interpretation of these results is that a solar flare taking place on December 14 (the tenth largest of 2020) caused a single-event upset (SEU) or single-event latch-up (SEL), damaging hardware components on the electrical power system (EPS).
