Oneliner	Improve the optical performance of spacecraft using digital technologies.
Description	The goal of the mission is to improve the optical performance of spacecraft using digital technologies. The spacecraft hosts an optical payload equipped with a light and cost-effective disturbance measurement and management system. During each image acquisition, accelerometers log the perturbations emitted by reaction wheels and their propagation along the satellite structure. Passive isolators placed on the structural path between the reaction wheel and the camera will reduce the disturbances. An active line-of-sight system for fine-pointing control of the payload will further improve the performance. The generated image data and satellite status information will be delivered to the ground with a software-defined radio. With VIBES-MVMS, the Institute of Aerospace Technology (IAT) at Bremen University of Applied Sciences is building on the previous VIBES-MVT and AQUACUBE projects. The aim of VIBES-MVMS is to expand the systems developed in previous projects and combine them into different satellite models. These satellite models include a planned engineering model and a structural thermal model. The intention is to advance the function of the systems to such an extent that they can be used on board a 3U CubeSat called “VIBES Pioneer”. VIBES Pioneer is intended to prove how the systems work in space and thus enable the systems developed at the HSB to be transferred to large satellites.
