Measure time-dependent electron pitch-angle densities in the outer Van Allen Belt.

Description

Measure time-dependent electron pitch-angle densities in the outer Van Allen Belt. PRESET will specifically observe electrons with energies between 0.3-5 MeV, addressing a critical gap in low Earth orbit (LEO) for medium-energy electron spectrometers (2–7 MeV). Understanding electron flux variation is essential, as electrons absorbed by the atmosphere produce nitric and hydrogen oxides, contributing to ozone depletion at high latitudes. This mission aims to (i) advance understanding of electron flux variations during magnetic storms, (ii) train the next generation of students in the space sector, and (iii) contribute to the amateur radio community.
