Aid in prediction of the earthquakes prior to their occurrence. In the initial stage it will be used as a 'test bed for verifying the hypothetical research work in the detection of seismic activity by studying the perturbations in the magnetic field of Earth', however, in later stage it will be used to detect the earthquakes solely.

Since these perturbations fall on the Ultra-Low Frequency (ULF) and Very Low Frequency (VLF) bands of the magnetic wave spectrum of earth, a high sensitivity magnetometer is being installed on-board Cu-REO, to detect the required electromagnetic field perturbations.
