Notes	The Sunstorm satellite carries Isaware’s X-ray Flux Monitor (XFM), an innovative solar X-ray spectrometer that detects the X-ray pulses produced by solar flares – massive eruptions of many millions of tons of material from the Sun’s surface. Solar flares can lead to solar storms, which can have potentially harmful effects on satellites, and terrestrial power and communications networks. The data produced by XFM can be instrumental in helping understand and predict solar storms.
