Form the company's own constellations for AIS system for tracking ships and high-resolution optical remote sensing of the Earth.

Description

Form the company's own constellations for the Automatic Identification System (AIS) system for tracking ships and high-resolution optical remote sensing of the Earth.

“We are preparing a mass launch of the AIS constellation - these are ultra-compact satellites for independent monitoring of water space and shipping on the Northern Sea Route and in the World Ocean. Now we have 12 satellites ready for launch; when deployed, this constellation will amount to about 70 satellites. The second part of the devices are optical satellites for remote sensing of the Earth with a resolution of 2.5 meters. With the next launch there will be the first such device and by the end of the year there will be about 6 more. We will be expanding this group next year,” said Sitronics Group President Nikolai Pozhidaev.

The service that the company plans to provide using its constellation of AIS satellites will make it possible to monitor shipping within protected areas and identify ships involved in water surface pollution, plan shipping, including in operations to rescue ships in distress, and combat illegal fishing. To provide customers with AIS data, Sitronics Group has created and operates a platform for visualizing and providing data to customers’ IT systems via API.

Devices for optical remote sensing of the Earth (ERS) with a resolution of 2.5 m in the CubeSat 12U format will be able to help solve important problems for the country: monitor the dynamics of changes in landscapes, the structure of vegetation cover, forest and agricultural lands, and solve problems of environmental monitoring of territories. With their help, you can regularly monitor the condition of agricultural crops, control subsoil use, quarrying, oil and gas fields, carry out topographic mapping, and also provide operational data to emergency zones such as floods and forest fires.

The spacecraft are designed and built by the SPUTNIX company, part of the Sitronics Group.

Companies are also working on developing satellite Internet of Things (IoT) and ADS-B technologies to track the movement of civil aircraft in the airspace. This year it is planned to launch test demo satellites to study the operation of the technologies.
